EXAMPLE
The specific location is 1249 Avenue Road (at Lytton Blvd.) where a
developer proposed to build townhouses.
Avenue Road has been studied with respect to traffic and safety.
There are numerous schools in the area and parents have (rightly) voiced
safety concerns about their children walking along Avenue Road to get to
and from school.
One of the key concerns and one there is little that can be done about
is the width of the sidewalks. In some spots, barriers have been
installed to keep pedestrians from having to walk on the road.
What will protect pedestrians from this?
Notice how close this new building is to the sidewalk?
The pictures below show how the adjacent buildings are set back from
the sidewalk.

Before the new development, the existing building was set-back
from the sidewalk as the existing buildings are.
How dangerous is this busy corner to be for pedestrians?
Where will the snow be cleared to?
This is how the previous building on this lot was.
So, how could the Councillor let this happen?
You see ...
"its2big"!!!

In a phrase ... its2big
